Three charges were levied against a dog owner after a man was bitten by a dog Friday in the Nailling Drive area of Union City.
Albern Wesley Connelly, 26, of 2034 Nailling Drive, Union City, was issued citations charging him with leash law violation, no proof of vaccination or registration and harboring a vicious animal, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Police had responded to the area about 7 a.m. in regard to someone who had been bitten by a dog and was en route to the local hospital’s emergency room.
The victim, Langford Battee, 30, of 819 Vine St., Union City, told police he was walking down Nailling Drive when a brown and white spotted medium-sized dog and three other small dogs came out of a yard at 2034 Nailling Drive and were barking at him as he walked by. The larger dog allegedly bit him on the back of the right calf of his leg.
Police reported the injuries apparently were not serious, but the skin was broken and bleeding.
Connelly was identified as the dog owner and he was issued the citations for the three alleged offenses.
