OC senior named Teen of the Month Posted: Friday, December 14, 2012 5:00 pm Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Tennessee-Union City is announcing Teen of the Month honors for LaQuasha Wheeler, daughter of Myra and Willie Couch and Jerry and Shirley Carter, all of Union City. She is a senior at Obion County Central High School and has been a member of Boys & Girls Club for six years. Miss Wheeler values the academic help she receives with homework and through personal tutoring at the club, since an education is important to her. She is in her second year of the cosmetology program at OCCHS and received the school’s perfect attendance award as a junior. She is a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church in Union City and enjoys doing hair color and makeup and reading and writing. “I have thoroughly enjoyed watching Quasha grow up in the Boys & Girls Club,” says club director Tracy Boucher. “She has made great strides in becoming a responsible and caring person and I look forward to her having a bright future while beautifying others through her cosmetology training.” Published in The Messenger 12.14.12 , |
