Mr. and Mrs. Paul Merrell Solmon

GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY — Mr. and Mrs. Paul Merrell Solmon of Saucier, Miss., recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception, given by their son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Lisa Solmon of Saucier, at Pass Road Baptist Church in Gulfport, Miss. He married the former Brenda Jordan on Dec. 24, 1962, at First Assembly of God Church, which was on Todd Street in Union City, with the late M.C. Daily, former pastor of the church, officiating. He is the son of Evelyn (Mobbs) Solmon, who is a resident at Obion County Nursing Home, and the late Merrell Solmon of Troy. He graduated from the former Dixie High School in 1958. He joined the Navy in January 1962 and retired from the Navy Seabees in 1982. She is the daughter of Agnes (Graves) Jordan and the late Jake Jordan of Kenton. She graduated from Union City High School in 1964. They are also the parents of the late Paula (Solmon) Eastland of Picayune, Miss. She had been married to Lamar Eastland of Picayune.
