Our resident/family Christ-mas dinner will be held this Saturday at 4 p.m. The facility will be providing the entire meal, so there is no need to bring anything. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the facility.
This week’s cover card winners were Sue Billingsby, Annie Cantrell, Dorothy Farrar, Doris Bradberry, Betty Hallum and Marguerite Radford. For one-line Bingo, each of the participants received 50 cents. We continue to have wonderful support from family members, peer residents and employees at during our games. Thank you all.
Ray Crowell was the winner of ladder golf with 52 points. The second- place finisher was Bobby Bynum. Miniature bowling was a close game to the very end. Ray Crowell won by one pin over Barry Flowers and it took until the final frame to do so.
The residents gathered for hand swatter on Wednesday afternoon. This game is not competitive, but still requires skill and accuracy. Bobby Bynum was the winner of hockey with six goals. Mag Yeargin was the runner up with four goals.
The Weakley County WMU ladies were with us on Friday afternoon. They provide the residents with a chance to go shopping for free. The residents loved picking our gifts for their loved ones and then having them wrapped and tagged by the group. This is a wonderful opportunity and we are so grateful that they shared it with us. Thank you all for your kindness and generosity.
The December resident council meeting was held on Thursday morning. All residents are encouraged to attend and have their voices heard. The meeting gives the opportunity to discuss preferences, complaints or requests. Department heads are kept on hand to answer any questions they might have.
The residents were treated to two special programs on Saturday. West Union Baptist Church and Bill Brewer and Friends did a remarkable job. We are so thrilled to have had you with us and look forward to your return.
Bible Union Baptist Church provided our Wednesday evening Bible study. Dresden First Baptist Church and Macedonia Church of Christ provided our Sunday morning worship services. Thank you all for your continued support and wonderful church programs. They mean so much to our residents.
