To The Editor:
On Nov. 19, my husband, Terry Johnson, and myself waited at the Helping Hand Ministry at 430 Miles Ave. in Union City for a truck of food for our pantry, which was very low.
At 7:05 p.m., a white truck turned into the parking lot. We said, “It’s here, let’s get ready to unload,” but to our surprise and delight, at 7:08 p.m., in pulls a flat-bed semi-truck full of boxes of all types of food. Along with the semi came Cub Scouts from First Baptist Church, their parents, siblings and friends. They all went right to work unloading all this food. It was awesome!
The members of Helping Hand Ministry want to make sure that everyone who had anything to do with this community project knows how thankful we are for your hard work and dedication. Your thoughtfulness has made it possible for many needy Obion County families to have food on their tables.
Job well done and happy holidays.
Pat Johnson
Food Pantry manager
