Gladys Thomas McClure Posted: Tuesday, December 11, 2012 3:36 pm The Messenger, December 11, 2012 Gladys Marie (Hickman) Thomas McClure, 79, of Troy died Dec. 10, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Vann Kissell officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening at the funeral home from 5-8. Pallbearers will be Chad Davidson, Keith Davidson, Chad Moore, Bobby Davidson, Joe Garrigan and Jake Garrigan. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Newcomb, Luke Garrigan and Terry Northam. Mrs. McClure was born July 19, 1933, in Fulton County, Ky., daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Killibrew) Hickman. She married Lexie D. Thomas July 10, 1949. He died Aug. 27, 1986. She married Josh McClure in September 1994. He died in January 2002. She was retired employee of the former Troy Manufacturing, where she worked for 28 years, and she had also worked at Children’s Corner in Union City. She was a member of Troy First Baptist Church and the Ladies Butterfly Group at the church. Mrs. McClure was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa (Thomas) and Larry Newcomb of Summitt, Miss., Vickie (Thomas) and Bobby Davidson of Troy and Becky (Thomas) and Joe Garrigan of Union City; her son, David Earl Thomas of Troy; six grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Jenny Davidson of Union City, Keith and LeeAnne Davidson of Troy, Meagan (Davidson) and Chad Moore of Dyersburg, Emily (Thomas) and Tyler Underwood of Obion and Jake Garrigan and Luke Garrigan, both of Union City; eight great-grandchildren, Mason Davidson and Zack Davidson, both of Union City, Macy Davidson of Paducah, Ky., Raganne Davidson and Hannah Parnell, both of Troy, Jax Taylor Underwood of Obion, and Carter Moore and Kensley Moore, both of Dyersburg; two sisters, Helen Conner of Troy and Fran Thomas of Union City; her brother, Russell Hickman of Hornbeak; three stepchildren, Sandy Busby, Teresa Carr and Dana Wilson, all of Hickman, Ky.; and several step-grandchildren.
