Fulton starts messaging Posted: Tuesday, December 11, 2012 3:49 pm The Messenger, December 11, 2012 Fulton Independent School District will be implementing a new automated call system in January in an effort to provide a more effective and universal way of notifying parents and employees of school closings and other important information. Through the use of pre-recorded phone messages, texts and emails, the One Call Now system will greatly diminish the reliance on television and radio announcements, notes sent home and manual phone calls in delivering critical and often time-sensitive information to families, a spokesman said. The success of the program is dependent on correct contact information being provided and entered into the database. Letters explaining the new system, along with a contact information form, will soon be sent to the families of Fulton Independent Schools. Parents or guardians will be asked to return the completed form to their student’s homeroom by Dec. 19. Fulton Superintendent Tamara Smith said a test run will be performed sometime in January to ensure the system is working and all contact information is correct. |
