FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Gov. Steve Beshear has unveiled an initiative intended to encourage an entrepreneurial spirit among teenagers in Kentucky.
The Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs, which kicks off in June, is intended to encourage innovation and creative thinking among high school students interested in starting small businesses.
Beshear said the initiative is part of an ambitious strategy to create a dynamic economy in Kentucky by helping teens understand the process of creating innovative products and of developing business models.
The goal is job creation.
Beshear said young people already are helping to craft the economic future of the state and nation with their innovative ideas. By helping to develop that talent, he said, Kentucky can foster new businesses and can create jobs.
