Donald Ray Ransom, 67, of the Clayton community died Dec. 8, 2012, at his home.
Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Darrell Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Fremont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Johnson, Mike Harrison, Jimmy Harrison, Tootie Abernathy, Randy Ursery, Terry Long and Ronald Baker.
He was born Jan. 15, 1945, in Obion County, son of the late L.J. and Pauline (Vinson) Ransom. He married the former Gloria Forbus Aug. 26, 1969. She survives. He was a truck foreman for Ford Construction Co. and was retired from the Tennessee Highway Department.
He was a Tennessee National Guard veteran and was of the Pentecostal faith. An avid fisherman and duck hunter, he enjoyed spending time on Reelfoot Lake.
He is also survived by his daughter, Amy Ransom of Union City; two grandsons, Brett Woodward and Jared Woodward, both of Union City; his sister, Margaret Hoffman of Union City; his brother and sister-in-law, J.A. and Doris Ransom of the Clayton community; three nieces, Cindy Hoffman of Greenville, N.C., Kathy Ransom of Troy and Daphie Sellars of South Carolina; and his nephew, Mike Hoffman of Troy.
