MARCHING ON — The local Everett-Stewart Composite Civil Air Patrol’s color guard marched in the Kenton Christmas parade Saturday evening. The vibrant team of C/SMSgt Auriel M. Brock, C/Amn Brittany Braddy, C/Amn Barbara Vallery and C/Amn Johnny Mealer performed. After their show, Kenton Mayor Virginia Davidson asked all of the cadets who performed to return to City Hall. She gave the young group a choice of gifts and thanked them for a job well done. The Civil Air Patrol consists of adolescents ages 12-19 and they are a skilled group of hard-working teens, according to a spokesman. Their three main missions are in aerospace education, cadet programs and emergency services. None of this would be possible without their commander, Capt. Sylvia Mallard, the spokesman said, expressing gratitude to her and the senior CAP members.
