Everyone is getting ready for Christmas at the facility.  Many have signed up to provide holiday activities and singings for the residents.  We greatly appreciate this and look forward to more.  We will be having our annual resident family Christmas dinner on Dec. 15th.  The facility will provide the entire meal.  Invitations have been sent to the responsible parties to share with all involved.
If you have any questions about the dinner or would like to schedule an activity, please feel free to give us a call.
This week’s cover card winners were Joyce Gatewood, Catherine Cantrell, Opal Pentecost, Leola Rawls, Bobby Bynum, Ray Crowell and Vivian Edwards.  For Thursday’s one-line Bingo, each participant received a price just for playing.  We would like to thank Peggy Carr, RN, for her donation to the Bingo fund.  We greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity.
This week’s sports competitions were incredible.  The residents are all very skilled and competitive.  The finals scores are always close and everyone does a great job.  The winner of the ping pong toss was Ray Crowell with 60 points.  Barry Flowers won tallyoop with an impressive perfect score.  Bobby Bynum closed the winners circle by scoring 750 points at velcro ball.
Many activities occur on a regular basis.  Each morning the residents gather for a resident led devotional service.  The ladies have a fingernail painting session weekly.  Monday evening the residents participated in the sensory relaxation Hour.
Food plays a large part in our activity program.  The November Birthday party was held on Tuesday afternoon.  The residents and birthday goers were all treated to cake and ice cream at the facility wide party.  For Friday afternoon’s social hour, the residents had their choice of pies a la mode.  Everyone’s taste buds were pleased with pecan, chess and apple pies all being served.  The November Prayer Breakfast was wonderful.  Bro. Virgil Allen led the devotional and prayer before the delicious country ham breakfast.  The residents always look forward to this event.
We are so fortunate to have regular church services provided for our residents.  Ease of worship is a blessing in itself.  Bible Union Baptist Church provided the Wednesday evening program.  Sunday morning services were conducted by Macedonia Church of Christ and Dresden First Baptist Church at their respective times.  Bethel Youth Group was with us on Sunday evening for a wonderful song service.
Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to be with us.
