A Weakley County man faces charges in Brentwood for allegedly kidnapping a woman from her home there and brining her to Weakley County.
Brentwood police have charged Athanasios D. Edmondson, 22, with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated burglary.
Edmonson is being held on no bond at the Weakley County jail, after Sharon police charged him with aggravated assault and vandalism.
Edmonson allegedly brought the female victim from Brentwood to Weakley County.
Sharon Police Chief Jerry Wilson responded to a call Nov. 26 about a domestic violence situation.
When Wilson arrived on the scene, he said he saw blood on Edmondson’s knees. The 21 year-old female victim was bleeding from the mouth, Wilson said.
Edmondson admitted to hitting the victim, Wilson said.
At some point during the incident, Edmondson’s sister had the victim get into an SUV for her own safety, Wilson said, adding the sister wanted to get the victim out of harm’s way. That’s when Edmonston used a knife to bust a window on the vehicle, Wilson said.
It wasn’t until later that Sharon police learned of the alleged incident in Brentwood.
A gun believed to be used in the kidnapping was later located and brought to Sharon police, Wilson said.
