What a wonderful experience all of our Duplicate players had on Nov. 28th.
After a week absence because of the Thanksgiving Day Holiday, we , Dresden Duplicate Club had an exciting, incredible week of bridge. On Tuesday night with three tables in play and on Wednesday we had four and a half tables in play. It was membership games for both clubs which means many, many more points for the winners.
Becky Bennett and Linda Jennings were hostesses for the Tuesday Dresden Dolls and Linda had baked a gingerbread man, wrapped in holiday attire and it was out of this world to taste and devour, as we all did. And Becky’s country ham dip was delicious.
Wednesday’s savory cream cheese with orange marmalade and Bertha Henry’s large cheese board filled with three blocks of cheese with crackers on the side and popcorn and chips all, left many players filled.
Winners of these two membership games were first place, Jane Young and Bertha Henry; second place, Linda Jennings and Becky Bennett. Wednesday’s winners were (five tables) first place, Jackye Hohman and Carol Ehlers, Paris; second place, Ruthie Jenkins and Carolyn Rogers, Paris; third place, Sue Thompson, Paris and Jack Bogue, Milan; and tied for fourth place, Alma Ford, Bertha Henry, Martin and Lois Harbour, U. C. and Bess Williams, Paris.
Our Christmas parties will be Dec. 11, 5 p.m. at Kountry Corner, then on to regular place to play our game. Dec. 12 will be held at Richie and Reggies at 11:15 a.m. for our luncheon and then back to Legion Hall for the game and more party.
We will not play on Dec. 25, but will play Dec.19th, our last game of the year.
