Shirley Garner

Mrs. Shirley Kay Howard Garner, 65, of Martin, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at her residence.

Services were held at noon Monday at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel in Martin with Rev. Terry Griffin officiating. Burial was in Gardner Cemetery in Martin.

Randall Garner, Mike Moss, Dale Hutcherson, Steve Pope, Rob Shadowens and Dalton Cashion served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Garner was born April 7, 1047 in Martin, daughter of the late Frank Jr. and Lucille Hazlewood Howard. She was a 1965 graduate of Martin High School, attended Bruce’s Business Institute and formerly worked in the Weakley County Tax Assessors Office. She was a member of Bible Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby J. Garner of Martin; one step son, Mike (Bridget) Garner of Brenham, Texas; one daughter, Tammy Garner Cashion of Dresden; one step daughter, Joe Ann (Russ) Garner Wireman of Martin; one brother, Dennis Howard of Dresden; one sister, Jan Howard Barker of Martin; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
