Former housewife and mother Elizabeth Sue Climer, 82, of Milan died Dec. 1, 2012, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in the coronary intensive care unit. She was the mother of Shirley Ann Towater of Union City.
Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan, with Bradley Osborne of Medina and Dr. Cecil Sewell of Union City officiating. Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery in Medina.
Pallbearers will be Tim Cates, Steve Pruett, Kenneth Harper, Lynn Seabaugh, Ronnie Lovvorn and Lee Pruett. Honorary pallbearers will be John Pruett, Rommie DePriest, John Sherrard and Jimmy Ramey.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
She was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Medina, daughter of the late Hollis Raymond and Minnie Sue (Whitman) Pruett.
Mrs. Climer was a housewife and mother during her lifetime. She was a very active and faithful worker in Oakwood Baptist Church and Northside Baptist Church of Milan and Russwood Baptist Church of Springville. She served as Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, choir member, church secretary, Woman’s Missionary Union director and, with her husband, as outreach codirector at Russwood Baptist Church for several years. She truly had a servant’s heart.
She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul Donald and Phyllis Climer of Halls; her son-in-law, Jim Towater of Union City; two grandchildren and their spouses, Beth and Nick Wooster of Arkansas and Kris and Isabelle Climer of Nashville; four great-grandchildren, Annabelle Climer, George Climer, William Climer and Emily Grace Wooster; her sister, Doris Cates of Milan; and her brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Faye Pruett of Medina.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Climer; and her brother, Gene Pruett.
