A traffic stop resulted in drug charges against a Mississippi man early Saturday in Fulton County, Ky.
Jackie J. White, 43, of Randolph, Miss., was charged following a traffic stop about 12:55 a.m. on State Route 1282 in the lower bottom area of Fulton County, according to a Fulton County Sheriff’s Department press release.
The sheriff’s department’s K-9 and handler conducted a perimeter search of the vehicle during the traffic stop. The drug detection dog alerted on the vehicle and a search resulted in a large quantity of various types of prescription medications being found inside. The suspect allegedly did not have the medications in the proper containers and numerous items were taken into evidence.
White was arrested for four counts of first-offense prescription controlled substance not in the proper container, four counts of first-degree first-offense possession of a controlled substance and four counts of second-degree first-offense trafficking in a controlled substance (drug unspecified).
The Lake County Sheriff’s Department assisted Fulton County authorities.
White was being held on a $650 cash bond and he bonded out Sunday, the sheriff’s department reported.
The incident remains under investigation and additional charges may be filed.
