The first-ever “Christmas in the Park,” sponsored by the Fulton Tourism Commission, will be staged Saturday from 5:30-8 p.m. at Pontotoc Park and the surrounding area in downtown Fulton.
The park will be aglow with lights and more than 30 Twin Cities businesses, organizations and individuals have registered to provide large-sized plywood Christmas cards which will be displayed in the park.
The annual Supper With Santa will be held at the Fulton Senior Citizens Center on Commercial Avenue, adjacent to Pontotoc Park, where children may visit with Santa and enjoy Wendy’s chili, hot dogs, cookies and drinks. Monetary or food donations will be accepted for Ken-Tenn Food Bank.
A Christmas bazaar will be held inside Pontotoc Community Center, with vendors to offer a variety of crafts, baked goods and gift items for sale. Several downtown Fulton merchants will also remain open from 5-8 p.m. Saturday as the event is under way at the park.
Richard Lewis of South Fulton will be present with his Christmas train and the Fulton High School choir will provide musical entertainment for “Christmas in the Park.”
