A Fulton County, Ky., woman was injured Tuesday morning when the vehicle in which she was a passenger was involved in a crash in Graves County, Ky.
Carolyn Jones, 69, of Hickman, Ky., was transported by ambulance to Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Ky., following an accident that occurred about 10:45 a.m. on U.S. 45 at KY 849.
She was a passenger in a 2012 Chevy Tahoe driven by Melissa Harrison, 46, of Fulton, according to a Kentucky State Police news release.
The KSP reported a 2006 Chevy Malibu driven by Raeann Garnett, 19, of Hickory, Ky., was eastbound on KY 849 and Ms. Harrison was driving northbound on U.S. 45. Ms. Garnett apparently did not see the other vehicle as she attempted to cross U.S. 45 and struck Ms. Harrison’s vehicle, causing Ms. Harrison’s Tahoe to roll over and come to final rest off the roadway.
Ms. Garnett was transported by family to Jackson Purchase Medical Center. All those involved in the crash were reported to be wearing seat belts.
The accident remains under investigation.
The KSP was assisted at the scene by the Graves County (Ky.) Sheriff’s Department, Mayfield/Graves County EMS, Viola (Ky.) Fire Department and Graves County Rescue.
