Ted Ogden Posted: Wednesday, November 28, 2012 8:42 am The Messenger, November 27, 2012 Theodore William “Ted” Ogden, 78, of Union City died Nov. 26, 2012, at his home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at White-Ran-son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Raphel officiating. Burial will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Wednesday. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. He was born Feb. 28, 1934, in Bondurant, Ky., son of the late Finis and Vera (Howard) Ogden. He married the former Retha Joyce Butler June 13, 1960. She survives. He was a retired machinist at the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Union City, where he worked for 29 years, and was a member of United Steel Workers Local 878. Survivors also include his son and daughter-in-law, Teddy and Frankie Ogden of Union City; two sisters, Berneice Long of Paris and Winnie Johnson of Dyersburg; two brothers, Thelbert Ogden and Delbert Ogden, both of Union City; three grandchildren, Chris Ogden and Kayla Kemp, both of Union City, and Zeth Ogden of Woodland Mills; and four great-grandchildren, Isaac Rice, Joshua Rice, Jaylee Rice and Blythe Ogden, all of Union City.
