Doyle Henry Larry, 76, of Troy, formerly of Ridgely, died Nov. 28, 2012, at his home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at The Living Word Church in Hornbeak, with the Rev. Archie Larry officiating. Burial will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Friends may call at the church 5-9 p.m. Thursday. Cryer Funeral Home in Obion is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Ben Pollock, Chad Daniels, Chris Williams, Cotton Brewer, Braxton Pollock and Greg Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Walley Dudley, Dee Staggs and the men of The Living Word Church.
The family requests memorials be made to The Living Word Church, 252 North Main St., Hornbeak, TN 38232.
He was born in Obion County, near the Gratio community, Nov. 4, 1936, son of the late George and Thelma (Deal) Larry. The owner of a retail building supply company, he was a member of The Living Word Church. A volunteer fireman in Ridgely for 25 years, he served three terms as a Ridgely alderman.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Lou (Archie) Larry, whom he married May 1, 1958. His survivors also include his son and daughter-in-law the Rev. Archie and Phyllis Larry of Obion; his daughter, Xan Campbell of Troy; his sister, Lois Stover of Union City; three grandchildren and their spouses, Misty and Ben Pollock of Obion, Charity and Chad Daniels of Troy and Megan Lanier and her fiancé, Chris Williams, both of Dyersburg; and five great-grandchildren, Braxton Pollock, Landon Pollock and Destinee Pollock, all of Obion, Bryce Daniels of Troy and Shelby Lynn Williams of Dyersburg.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ina May James.
