A & J Salvage off Highway 51 South has re-opened its new non-ferrous metals warehouse, after a fire destroyed the original building in late May.
After that fire, A&J Salvage had to accept all non-ferrous metals at a building across the highway from the salvage yard.
Now, A&J Salvage’s customers can bring their copper, brass, aluminum, stainless, batteries, aluminum cans and other non-ferrous metals to the new warehouse located next to the A&J Salvage office building.
A&J Salvage is owned and operated by Jock and Bobby Johnson.
Their new 75-foot-by-150-foot warehouse is significantly larger than the original warehouse.
The new warehouse also has a set of scales inside the building where unloading can be done out of the weather.
Jock Johnson said he is pleased to have the new warehouse re-opened where all business can be conducted on the same side of the road.
He said he hopes customers will find the new warehouse more convenient for dropping off their non-ferrous scrap metal.
There are plans to hold a grand opening event in the near future, according to Jock Johnson.
A&J Salvage’s grand opening will include give-aways and pricing specials, he said.
