Completed arrangements are being announced for Ricky Dale Henson, 57, of Union City, who went home to be with the Lord at 7:15 a.m. Nov. 23, 2012, at his home.
Services were conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Lake Road Baptist Church. The Revs. Chip Davis and Mickey Basham officiated. Burial followed in Mt. Manuel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Matt Snow, Christian Snow, Bo Faulkner, Chuck Doughten, David Long and Robert McCullough. Honorary pallbearers were Craig Menees, Robert Myers, Mickey Bowers and members of Lake Road Baptist Church.
Edmaiston-Mosley Fun-eral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Lake Road Baptist Church, 1366 East Highway 22, Union City, TN 38261; Mt. Manuel Cemetery Association, 1512 Troy-Hickman Road, Union City, TN 38261; or Hometown Walk of Hope, P.O. Box 482, Union City, TN 38281.
He was born Sept. 9, 1955, in St. Louis, son of James and Diane (Basham) Henson of Union City. Ricky was an American Civil War enthusiast and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He had been a writer for Southern Back Roads Magazine and the Ozark Mountaineer.
He was the author of “Just Plain Brady,” a book about folklore that surrounds Reelfoot Lake. Ricky was a member of Lake Road Baptist Church.
Ricky is also survived by his sister, Kathy Menees; his niece and her husband, Angie and Matt Snow; his nephew, Craig Menees; his great nephew and great niece, Christian Snow and Nicole Snow; and a special aunt, Judy Summers, all of Union City.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Henson; and his grandparents, Cleo “Red” and Laverne Basham and Brady and Iva Henson.
