Pleasant Hill Baptist Church news Posted: Tuesday, November 20, 2012 6:00 pm By: By Beverly Smith Bastyr It was a great day at church Sunday. We enjoyed our Sunday school lesson taught by Mark Simpson. Morning worship started with Bro. Elwood, Bro. Steve, Bro. Mac, Vickie and Angela bringing us a great music service. The choir brought our special music and did a great job! Bro. Mac brought his message from Luke 17: 11-19. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving supper that evening. We met in the sanctuary before we ate and had a short service to let anyone who wanted to tell what they are thankful for, express it before the congregation and God. Many people expressed their thankfulness to the Lord for many different things, from being thankful for family and friends to being thankful for just being alive after a near death experience and for the church family who helped with just being there. We had 91 boxes collected for the Samaritan’s Purse to be shipped overseas for children who never have had a Christmas before and they get to be introduced to God whom they probably have never even heard of. There will be a baby tea for Matt and Jenna Moeller on Dec. 2 from 2-3:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. She has baby selections at Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Target and Kizer Pharmacy in Union City. And it’s a girl. She will be named Sarabeth Riley. Birthdays for this week are Seth Waterfield, Grace Ann Merritt, Shelia Reaves and Zach Rea. We wish all of these a very happy birthday and to everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. Give thanks to the Lord for all He has done for you in your life. May God bless all of you until next week. None |
