UTM women drop
all three in Hawaii

UT Martin lost each of its three games in the women’s basketball Rainbow Wahine tournament in Honolulu over the weekend with losses of 73-69 to host Hawaii, 82-67 to defending national champion Baylor and 92-68 to Stanford.
Heather Butler totaled 74 points and Jasmine Newsome put up 61 points in three games.
Stanford won the tourney, also beating Baylor and Hawaii.
Now 1-4, the Skyhawks will take a week off and host Louisville on Nov. 26.

Jesse Glover wins
football contest

Jesse Glover of Union City won The Messenger’s final football picks contest of the season.
Glover correctly tabbed nine of the 10 games and picked 48 points to be the highest score of a team on the contest. Jackson Northside scored 45.
Finishing second with one miss and a pick of 49 was Melinda Vancleave of Union City.
Debra James of Palmersville was third overall, missing one and picking 50 points.
Glover earns $20, Vancleave $10 and James $5 for their efforts.

SF Booster Club
has meet planned

The South Fulton Middle School and High School Athletic Booster Club will meet tonight at 6 in the school library.
All members, prospective members, parents, coaches, administrators and supporters of South Fulton Middle School and High School athletes and cheerleaders are urged to attend, according to a club spokesman.
