Kathleen (Hampton) Prather Moore, 91, a longtime resident of Woodland Mills, died at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City Nov. 15, 2012, at 5 p.m.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Revs. Steve Carpenter and Rick Burton officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of services Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Carpenter, Mike Hampton, Keith Forrester, Joel Thacker, Craig McNatt and Scott Prather. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Gray, Jerry Thomas, Jerry Pruett, Johnny Prather, Dale Beard and Sammy McCollum.
The family requests that memorials be made to Woodland Mills First Baptist Church.
She was born May 26, 1921, in Obion County, daughter of the late William Preston Hampton and the late Lacie Hampton Hendrick. She was married to T.R. “Jack” Prather from 1937-72. She then married Robert Cannon “Pistol” Moore in 1972. He died in 1996.
She was a member of Woodland Mills First Baptist Church.
Beloved by her friends and family, she enjoyed cooking and delighted in the outdoors. She also loved gardening and had a “green thumb.”
She is survived by two daughters, Gayle Johnson of Lebanon and Martha Moosmann of Germantown; two sons, Phillip Prather of Kennewick, Wash., and Carl Prather of Woodland Mills; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jane Mathis of Russellville, Ky., and Glenda Chrismon of Atlanta.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Samuel Bret Prather; and her brother, Doug Hampton.
