Celebration planned
Mt. Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Troy will host a community  Thanksgiving meal with sister churches Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian and Ebenezer Cumberland Presbyterian Sunday at 5 p.m.
The Rev. James Gunter will also bring a special message during the evening.

Holiday bazaar set
First United Pentecostal Church, located at 1105 Edwards St. in Union City, will sponsor a holiday bazaar Saturday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
There will be baked goods, including homemade three-layer cakes that will be perfect for holiday celebrations, such as chocolate, coconut, Italian cream, German chocolate, strawberry, chess, pineapple and peppermint. Pies will include pecan, chocolate, caramel and coconut, and there will also be pumpkin rolls, apple cake, cookies, cupcakes, other desserts and treats, dressing, sweet potato casseroles, chicken spaghetti, hashbrown casserole, rolls and other homemade dishes.
Canned goods featuring jams and jellies, pear preserves, peach jam, apple butter, green tomato relish, tomato relish, chowder, piccalilli, salsa, chow-chow, zucchini, cayenne and jalapenos will also be offered.
Crafts and handmade items will include crocheted baby hats and booties, ornaments, hats, scarves, decorative items, hair accessories, crocheted hats and ear warmers and more.
Gift merchandise that will be available for shoppers will feature dishes, lamps, pictures, furniture, books, decorative items, holiday decorations, purses, candles, toys and more.
Breakfast will be served from 8-10 for $3 and a chili or bean lunch will be offered beginning at 10:30 for $5.

Fall Outreach planned
Union City First Assembly of God, located at 1810 Pleasant Valley Ave., will host Fall Outreach Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon. Shoppers will be welcome to select gently used clothing for infants, children, teens and adults and each family will receive a bag of groceries while supplies last. Three themed gift baskets will also be awarded as door prizes.

To honor pastor
Friendship Free Will Baptist Church, located at 1304 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Union City, will honor the Rev. Eugene Coleman and his wife Sunday at 2 p.m. at a pastor appreciation day service.
Elder Rozelle Dotstry and his congregation from Bashan Baptist Church in Rives will be special guests.
A meal will be served when these guests arrive.
The community is invited to attend.

Bazaar-bake sale set
Greater Vision Church of God, located at 701 Mary Jane St. in Troy, will host a holiday bazaar and bake sale Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Proceeds from the bake sale and vendor fees will benefit children’s projects supported by the congregation.
Vendors who will be on hand include representatives for Scentsy, BeautiControl, Avon, Origami Owl, Lia Sophia, Thirty-One and Mary Kay.
There will also be handmade crafts and baked goods.

Event featuring chili
Delicious chili will be on the menu at the bazaar, bake sale and luncheon sponsored by youth and parents of Faith Lutheran Church, located at 2012 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City. Proceeds from the sale of baked items, crafts, gift items and chili will go toward the 2013 National Youth Gathering. The event will be Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Take-outs will be available.
