Arisa Moses (left), a Union City J’Cettes member and chairman of Chimes for Charity’s Head Start shopping tour, and Regina Hendon, Chimes secretary, worked this morning at Walmart Supercenter in Union City to tag toys chosen as gifts for Head Start children. Chimes provides food, clothing and toys to less fortunate families around Obion County at Christmas with the generous support of community contributions. This year, 50 Head Start children are each being treated to clothing and toys, with another 310 children from pre-kindergarten through age 14 from across the county to be treated to new clothing and a toy at Sunday’s annual children’s shopping tour. Volunteers will be needed to help children shop during Sunday’s event, which will begin at 1 p.m. at Walmart Supercenter. The children chosen to shop will arrive at staggered times between 1 and 4 p.m. and volunteers may arrive at their convenience during the afternoon to help. Volunteers should check in with the Union City Jaycees and J’Cettes on the Garden Center side of the store.
