Nursing homes across Tennessee, including Union City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, will celebrate Nursing Home Caregiver Appreciation Day Friday.
This day recognizes the contributions of more than 37,000 nursing home employees across the state who provide care to nursing home patients.
These employees, including nurses, certified nursing assistants, dietitians, therapists, activity directors, social workers, housekeepers, maintenance workers and cooks, work together to provide the best quality of care for their patients. In addition to providing medical care, those men and women are responsible for meeting the patients’ mental, social, and spiritual needs.
In recognition of Nursing Home Caregiver Appreciation Day, Union City Nursing & Rehabilitation center has planned events to celebrate the employees, including an open house from 9-11 a.m. Friday. The community is invited to visit the facility and thank the staff for the hard work they do for the patients on this special day.
“This year’s Nursing Home Caregiver Appre-ciation Day theme is ‘One of a kind,’” said Ron Knox, administrator of the facility. “While all of our caregivers work hard to meet the needs of our residents, occasionally you have those employees who stand out in everything they do. It is an honor to recognize them for their efforts to provide quality care.”
Union City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a member of the Tennessee Health Care Association, a nonprofit organization whose members include long-term care facilities located throughout the state.
