STAR STUDENTS — Several elementary students from Gleason School were recently recognized as Citizens of the Six-Weeks in three categories: High Achiever Award, Character Counts Award and BUG (Bringing Up Grades) Award. These students were selected by their teachers for their accomplishments during the first and second six-weeks grading periods of the school year. Winners were announced recently at an elementary assembly led by principal Trish Price. Citizens of the Six-Weeks received certificates and American flags, donated by Woodmen of the World. The Character Counts program at Gleason School is funded by the Bank of Gleason, Woodmen of the World, the City of Gleason, the Gleason Gazelles and Gleason Rotary Club. Among those honored as BUG Award winners were (from left, front row) Layne Fowler, Donald Shell, Shelby Hensley, Joshua Kerr, Cody Harris and Tristan Chandler, (back row) Jessica Vermillion, Ms. Price, Angel Wallace, Shamya Stevenson, Blake Hill and Mason Fuzzell, Woodmen of the World representative Wendell Verdell and Kylen Johnson.
