The Dresden Senior Center recently hosted a 2012 Halloween dance with the Larry Frye band entertaining.
A large crowd attended and a costume contest was held. Winners were first place, Mary Humphreys of Carroll County,  dressed as Mrs. Frankenstein; second place, Shirley Swindell of Greenfield, dressed as Susie Ballerina; and third place, Mary Bullington, also of Carroll County, dressed as a cocktail waitress.
This year’s 2012 Halloween king was Edward Hicks of Dresden and queen Teresa Hicks. He was dressed as a pregnant lady and she as a cat.
The public is invited to a fund raiser, “Christmas with Family and Friends,” on Friday at 7 p.m. at the center. Earl McAlister of Bradford is producer of this event. Advanced tickets are $8 and $10 at the door. Children five and under are admitted free. A concession stand will be available.
The center has started the second “matter of balance class.” It will be held twice a week for four weeks.
Everyone is reminded it is open enrollment for Medicare Part D. Ivy McDaniel, director of the Ships Program, will be at the office on Thursday. She will show different plans that are available. To schedule an appointment, call 364-5678.
