The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Nov. 5 arrested a suspended Milan police officer after the Gibson County grand jury returned a total of 24 indictments against him after a TBI investigation involving allegations of sexual misconduct.
Adam Scott Martin, 39, of Atwood was indicted on 18 counts of rape, one count of incest, one count of aggravated sexual battery, one count of sexual battery by an authority figure and three counts of sexual battery.
TBI originally arrested Martin in July 2012 on one count of sexual battery by an authority figure against a 19-year-old female. That charge is included in the indictments, and all the charges involve the same victim.
The 28th Judicial District Attorney General’s Office originally requested the investigation, which is being prosecuted by a special prosecutor in the 24th Judicial District Attorney General’s Office.
Martin was booked into the Gibson County Jail on $150,000 bond.
His arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 13.
