South Fulton was a winner twice over Hickman County in middle school basketball action Thursday.
The Devilettes mounted a furious fourth-quarter rally to erase what was an earlier 10-point deficit in a 45-40 triumph, while the SF boys jumped out big early in the nightcap and cruised to a 55-27 victory.
In other games reported to The Messenger, Hillcrest and Ridgemont split, the Lady Cougars winning the opener 36-19, and R’mont claiming Game 2 48-45. Black Oak dropped a pair to Northview, 32-25 in girls’ play and 47-30 in the boys.

The South Fulton girls trailed 13-3 after one and 24-15 at halftime before outscoring the Lady Falcons 17-8 in the final period to win for the third time in four games.
Madison Brown had 12 points and eight rebounds and Tiffany Potts finished with 10 markers and seven boards for the victors. Emma Glisson had eight points and four steals.
The Red Devil boys bolted to a 25-7 lead after one quarter and expanded that difference to 40-11 at the half to win easily.
Zaccius Mays finished with 15 points and seven rebounds, Branden Walker had nine points and five boards and Jyriq Jones scored eight points for SF.
South Fulton plays its first home game Monday against Lake Road.
Hillcrest 36, R’mont 19 (G)
R’mont 48, Hillcrest 45 (B)
Macey Cox barely missed a double-double, but still finished with 12 rebounds and nine points to go along with five steals to pace Hillcrest in Game 1.
Courtney Heuck had 11 points, six rebounds and a half-dozen steals, while Justice Pearson ended up with nine points and six caroms.
Kari O’Steen led R’mont with six markers.
The Mustangs won a nail-biter in the nightcap as J.P. Jones had 11 points, Jaylee Hobbs eight and Dalton Bridgewater seven.
Hunter Brown had a monster game for Hillcrest with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Christian Cary had nine points as did Rhett Thomas Fussell.
Ridgemont plays at Paris next Thursday, while Hillcrest plays the same night at South Fulton.
Northview 32, BO 25 (G)
Northview 47, BO 30 (B)
BO led after one quarter in both games, but couldn’t build on that advantage or hold on.
The Lady Eagles were up 12-5 at the end of one period and the Black Oak boys were ahead 10-7 before both fell behind at the half.
Nellina Wooten had 14 points and six rebounds and Harley Burress scored five points for BO in the opener.
Brandon Swift had eight points and eight boards, Jonathon Davis finished with eight points and six rebounds, and Blake Jones and Issac Darnall each had six points for the Eagles in the nightcap.
BO hosts Spring Hill/Yorkville in its next game.
