The Messenger, November 9, 2012
A local woman is urging residents to be cautious following an incident in which her elderly mother was frightened this week when a man came to her door selling aerial photos.
The 85-year-old Hornbeak area woman was approached at her home by a man who offered to sell her a framed photo of her house taken from a helicopter. He started out at a price of $109, but when she declined, he dropped the price to $40, according to the woman’s daughter.
The daughter told The Messenger the man apparently was somewhat forceful and placed his foot inside the door at one point, but he finally left her mother’s home.
Another resident in the area reported a similar encounter, the daughter told The Messenger.
The sheriff’s department was also contacted about the incident.
