Laverne Hooper, 89, of Obion died Nov. 8, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion, with the Rev. David Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Obion.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be David Fitzgerald, Bobby Fitzgerald, Donnie Fitzgerald, Chris Gray, Jamie Powers and Jimmy Jones.
She was born Jan. 14, 1923, in Mason Hall, daughter of the late  Oscar Thomas and Edna Earl (Hemphill) Cates. She was a cafeteria manager for the Obion County Board of Education and a member of Obion First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Louis Hooper, who died in 1974.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Fitzgerald of Union City and Kaye Gray of Obion; and six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
