CLASS REUNION — The Union City High School Class of 1957 met recently for its 55th reunion. Among those attending were (front, from left) Margaret Colville Payne of Bartlett and Willard, Ohio; Betty Beauchamp of Hyattsville, Md.; Judi Holdeman of Grants Pass, Ore.; Carolyn Cultra Chapman of Union City; Carolyn Hawks Barnes of Union City; Mary Sue Cloys Howard of Dunwoody, Ga.; Anna Rives Crocker of Union City; Larry Wuench of Solon, Ohio; (back) Clifford Houser of Knoxville; Dr. Rex Bushong of San Angelo, Texas; Mickey Quinton of San Diego, Calif.; Dr. Wayne Brown of Brentwood; Gordon Clayton of Cary, N.C.; Richard Arnold of Union City; John Fox of Holly Springs, N.C.; Larry Edmundson of Union City; Hugh Wade of Union City; Hunter Mountjoy of Halls; Dr. Arthur Thompson of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Glenn King of Columbia, S.C.; Lee Smith of Murfreesboro; and Bob Hubbs of Athens, Ala. Present, but not pictured, was Dalton Stover of Germantown. Class members and their spouses met at Boyette’s Dining Room at Reelfoot Lake for a fish dinner on a Thursday night. Beverly Frizzell Magee and her husband, Milton, of Dyersburg also attended. On Friday night, all were entertained with an open house at the home of Larry and Sandy Edmundson of Union City. Also present were Donald Martin and his wife, Louise, as well as Howard and Beverly Carman, Phillip White and Marion and Mary Lynn Reithel, as special guests. That Saturday morning, the class members and guests were invited to the home of Richard and Patty Arnold for brunch. That afternoon, they were taken on a tour of Discovery Park of America, guided by Jim Rippy and Polly Brasher. Then on Saturday evening, the class enjoyed dinner at Another Thyme. Clifford Houser, senior class president, acted as emcee for the event and candles were lit in memory of the 18 class members who are deceased, five of whom have died since the last reunion.
