The Mason Hall Family and Community Education Club met recently at the community center, which was decorated for fall.
President Frances Allen welcomed 13 women members, three men members and three visitors.
Mrs. Allen read the thought for the day, “Live so that when other people think of integrity, enthusiasm, commitment and caring, they think of you.” Roll call was answered with members naming their favorite holiday fragrance.
Betty Luton’s devotional was from a devotion book for women. She gave several readings. One was about smiles, which she said can bring hope and change to lives. Shut-ins were remembered and she closed in prayer.
Secretary and treasurer reports were read and approved.
Communications included cards from Milan Fall Forklore and Obion County Fair Association.
Members discussed The Tennessee Association of Family and Community Education Clubs’ convention to be held Nov. 12-14 at Hilton Hotel in Memphis.
Officers were elected for the coming year.
The club will be attending Christmas Gathering with Teresa Vinson at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City on Dec. 5.
Members discussed preparation for their Christmas lunch and program on Dec. 6 at the community center.
To close the meeting, Linda Holder read Jean Malone’s short story which was entered in a creative writing program this year.
