The Fulton Tourism Commission is sponsoring a Christmas card decorating event at Fulton’s downtown Pontotoc Park.
Participants are being asked to paint their own four-foot by eight-foot, three-quarter-inch pieces of plywood with their favorite Christmas themes. Anyone is welcome to participate, including businesses, industries, churches, civic clubs, schools, etc.
Organizers ask that participants paint the design horizontally on the piece of plywood.
Participants may use their own wood if they already have it; but if they do not, Builders Supply in South Fulton will be offering a discounted price on wood purchased from them for this specific event.
All lights, metal poles and extension cords will be provided.
The Christmas cards should be ready by Nov. 29. Event chairmen will be on hand at Pontotoc Park on Nov. 29 from 4-7 p.m. to assist participants with card placement.
All cards will be displayed until after Dec. 25.
Prizes will be awarded, with $125 for first place, $75 for second place and $50 for third place.
For more information and to register for the event, call Fulton Tourism at (270) 472-9000, Eddie Crittendon at (270) 627-3716 or Garrett Hutchins at 627-0979.
