| A vision years in the making finally came true Tuesday in Fulton County, Ky. — a new dispatch center began operations. The new dispatch center is a stand-alone operation in Hickman, Ky., under the direction of Sheriff Robert Hopper. The county dispatch is housed within the Fulton County Detention Center’s facility located at 2010 South Seventh St. Over the past years, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office has been dispatched primarily by the Fulton Police Department and, secondly, by the Hickman Police Department. “The FCSO is grateful for the years of service both agencies have provided the FCSO and this community in dispatching,” the sheriff said. Agencies the Fulton County Dispatch Center will be dispatching for are the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Fulton Police Department, Fulton Fire Department, Tri-City Ambulance Service, Fulton County Rescue Squad and the Cayce Fire Department. To reach any of these agencies, residents may continue to use the same phone numbers they have in the past. In case of emergencies residents may dial 911 and the call will be routed to the county dispatch center. After hour emergencies for the City of Fulton Public Works and the City of Fulton Electric System may be made to the county dispatch center. If residents choose to contact the county dispatch center directly, the phone number is (270) 236-3015. If residents have a residential alarm and live outside the City of Hickman, they are advised to contact their alarm company and give them the new county dispatch center number (270-236-3015). Sheriff Hopper said he is grateful to everyone that made this possible. “With the new dispatch center, it is another tool that the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office can utilize to provide the citizens of Fulton County the service they deserve.” Published in The Messenger 10.31.12 | | | |
