The Messenger, November 2, 2012
Justin Prentice, grandson of Katherine Wright and the late Clifford Wright of Union City, will be featured in tonight’s ABC premier of “Malibu Country.” The young native of Nashville, who is the son of David and Janet Prentice, plays the son of Reba McEntire, whose character has left her cheating country-superstar husband and moved to California with her family to look for a fresh start.
Going along for the ride are Lily Tomlin, who plays McEntire’s sharp-tongued mother, and Juliette Angleo, who is McEntire’s eager-to-blend-in-daughter.
The challenges of life as a single mom, an aspiring entertainer, a mother to two teens and daughter to a no-holds-barred parent leave the traditional Southern girl in interesting situations as she seeks to hold on to the traditions and values dear to her heart.
Country music fans will, no doubt, be pleased to see a new television effort featuring McEntire and local residents will enjoy the opportunity to see young Prentice in his first important television role.
A story about the young man’s theatrical interests and experiences will be featured in The Messenger soon.
The program’s pilot will debut this evening at 7:30 on ABC.
