Church open for prayer
First Church of God at 415 South Miles Ave. in Union City will be open Friday from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. and the community is invited to stop in and pray, according to a spokesman.
The Rev. Ron Gray and the congregation invite all who are interested to stop and pray for spiritual renewal in America, the upcoming election (local and national) and whatever concerns citizens may have.
There will not be any kind of program, a spokesman said. “This is a come, pray and go as you can. The theme will be II Chronicles 7:14: ‘If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’”

Fall revival planned
The Rev. Michael Julian of Obion First Baptist Church and Ralph Winters of Johnson Grove Baptist Church near South Fulton will be leading fall revival services at Lake Road Baptist Church, located at 1366 East Highway 22 near Union City.
The revival will begin Sunday at 11 a.m. and continue that evening at 6. On Monday through Wednesday, there will be a fellowship meal at 6, followed by the service at 7.
The community is invited to attend, according to the pastor, the Rev. Chip Davis.

Conference to open
Dr. Jonathan T. Pen-nington, a distinguished author who serves as associate professor of New Testament Interpretation at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., will be the speaker for Reformation Conference, planned for Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church, a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, located on the town square in Troy. The theme will be “Seeing the Gospel in the Sermon on the Mount.”
Dr. Pennington will give two lectures each evening. Refreshments will be provided each night during a break between lectures.

To host revival
New Beginnings, located at 2221 Oakshire Road near Union City, is in week three of its Power Pack Revival, with services weeknights and Saturdays at 6 and Sunday at 3 p.m.

Revival planned
Sunswept Baptist Church, located at 205 Sunswept Drive in Union City, will have a fall revival beginning Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Services will continue that evening at 6 and Monday through Wednesday at 7 each evening.
Dr. Terry Wilkerson will be the evangelist and Ed Tittle will lead the music.
The public is invited to attend, a spokesman said.

Café to serve
Exchange Street Church of Christ’s Soul Food Café will be open Wednesday from 5:30-7 p.m. and will be serving a Thanksgiving menu that includes turkey, dressing, salad, rolls, green beans and dessert. The community is invited to take part in this free meal and time of fellowship.

Christmas plans told
Kids-4-Kids, a program that provides Christmas for children in need, will host an indoor yard sale Saturday at Exchange Street Church of Christ in Union City. For more information, call 796-5005.
