UT Martin will play host to the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference Soccer Championship at Skyhawk Field Thursday through Monday.
The Skyhawk soccer team clinched their first outright OVC regular season championship on Sunday with a 6-0 win against Tennessee Tech, earning the top seed and right to host the league tournament.
Action begins on Thursday with a pair of quarterfinal matches. No. 4 Southeast Missouri (6-9-4, 5-3-2 OVC) will take on No. 5 Belmont (8-8-2, 4-4-2 OVC) at 4 p.m., followed by a matchup between No. 3 Eastern Kentucky (10-7-2, 6-3-1 OVC) and No. 6 SIU Edwardsville (7-7-3, 4-4-2 OVC) at 7 p.m.
The league’s top two seeds then make their tournament debuts on Friday in the semifinals. No. 1 UT Martin (11-5-3, 8-1-1 OVC) will battle the winner of the Southeast Missouri/Belmont matchup at 4 p.m., followed by No. 2 Austin Peay (11-7-1, 7-2-1 OVC) taking on the winner of Eastern Kentucky/SIU Edwardsville at 7 p.m.
