The Fulton County (Ky.) Retired Teachers Association met recently at The Keg Restaurant. The group consists of retired teachers from the Fulton County and Fulton City school districts.
Welcoming those attending was Barbara Christopher, president of the local chapter of certified educational retirees. After the pledge was recited, guest speaker Carroll Hubbard, Democratic candidate for the position of Kentucky senator in November’s election, spoke to the group, followed by a question/answer session. At the previous meeting in September, Hubbard’s opponent, Trigg County Judge Executive Stan Humphries, was the Republican guest speaker.
Secretary Martha Goodman read the previous meeting’s minutes. Billy Milner, treasurer, gave his report. Legislative chairman Walter McAlister was not present. Vice president Julia Davis gave a brief membership report. Agnes Sublett and Barbara Christopher, insurance committee chairmen, made pertinent brief comments.
Other business was conducted, after which meals were served, and the group enjoyed the fellowship with each other. Birthday treats were given to those in attendance who have September and October birthdays.
The next meeting will be on Nov. 13. Call Mrs. Christopher at (270) 210-7932 for more information.
