KNOXVILLE (AP) — Officials at security company ADT Corp. plan to add 300 jobs at their Knoxville office.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/Scx313) CEO Naren Gursahaney announced the expansion during a news conference last week.
Along with the workforce expansion, the company also plans to expand its facilities.
Local economic development officials initially recruited ADT predecessor Brinks Home Security to the area in 2006.
Later Brinks’ home security business was spun off and re-branded.
In 2010 it was purchased by Tyco.
ADT spun off from Tyco International earlier this month.
Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett said the addition of 300 jobs is “huge.”
