Player Of The Week: Offense

OFFENSE
Jamie Pirtle
School: Union City
Pos.: Lineman
Height: 5-10
Weight: 280
Grade: Sophomore

By The Numbers: After stepping into the starting lineup two weeks ago as a replacement for injured Kane Taylor, Pirtle again proved worthy of the opportunity by helping to pave the way for Union City to gain 476 total yards in a 37-12 win over South Fulton at War Memorial Stadium. It marked the fifth time this season the Golden Tornadoes have gone over 400 yards in total offense. Part of that strong effort was opening holes so two backs could rush for over 100 yards.
Honorable Mention: Blake Berner, Obion Central, accounted for 230 yards and both Rebel scores, completing 15-of-27 passes for 136 yards and two TDs while rushing for 94 yards on nine carries. … Keylon Hyde, UC, established himself as the school’s all-time leading rusher with 104 yards. … Ricky Henry, UC, led the Twisters with 140 rushing yards.
