On Oct. 17, we sang, “I Feel Like Travelin’ On” to open our service. Our study was from 1 Timothy 1:1-20.
On this Lord’s Day, we had a good attendance. Our Sunday school lesson was from Exodus 15:19-21 and Numbers 13:1-16, titled “From Failure to Correction.” This lesson helped us to identify ways to avoid a discontented or critical spirit.
We express sympathy to those that lost loved ones including Judy Byars. Her brother, Gene Gurien, passed Friday.
Happy birthday to Tracy Mallory, Julie Baker, Ann Barge, Molly McClure and Bro. Wayne Perkins. Happy Anniversary Saturday to Hugh and Carol Brann.
We had a good attendance for the worship hour. We were glad to have our visitors. Songs that were sung were “Lord, I’m Coming Home,” “Rescue the Perishing,” “Shall We Gather at the River” and “We’ll Work ‘Til Jesus Comes.”
Today was children’s church for grades one through four. Scripture reading was from Romans 8:26-28, 35-39. We had one to come for a rededication. We rejoiced with her.
We also rejoiced that our prayers have been answered for those looking for jobs.
Sunday was Pastor Appreciation Day. We recognized Bro. Kieth and Roxie for what they do with a monetary gift and a restaurant gift card. We love and appreciate them very much.
In the evening we sang “Heavenly Sunlight,” “More About Jesus,” “Soon and Very Soon,” and “Sunlight, Sunlight.” Charlene Harris sang one of Bro. Kieth’s favorite songs, “Come Morning.” Scripture reading was from Romans 8:5-13. It was a good day.
Sunday morning, we will have a baby dedication for two of our youngest, Paxton Dyer and Brooklyn Mullins.
In the evening, we will have our Fall Festival starting at 3 p.m. for the kids to play on the blow-ups. We will meet at 5 p.m. for soup, chili, sandwiches and desserts. A hayride will follow. Lots of things for everyone. Come and join us for a lot of fun.
