‘Buddy’ Capps

Harold Gene “Buddy” Capps, 81, of Union City died Oct. 21, 2012, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Leggett officiating.
Visitation will be held 1 p.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday.
He was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Fulton, son of the late David Jones Capps and Ruby (Pierce) Capps. He married Kathryn Adelia Pewitt on Nov. 13, 1973. She survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Union City and Veterans of Foreign Wars Jones-Walker Post 4862. He was a former Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, was former secretary of the former Eagle Club and was a four-sport letterman at Union City High School.
He is also survived by three daughters, Bobbye Jeanne Miller, Belinda Cultra and Tammy Weaver, all of Union City; his son, Harold Gene Capps Jr. of Austin, Texas; three step-sons, Jon Fuzzell and David Fuzzell, both of Union City, and Joe Fuzzell of Bells; his step-daughter, Leigh Ann Lugten of Hendersonville; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Capps; and a step-grandson, R.J. Lugten.
The family requests memorials me made to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope or Union City Baptist Hospice.
