We enjoyed a good day at church Sunday. Our lesson was taught by Mark Simpson. We were glad to have Vivian McCaleb in our class.
Bro. Elwood, Bro. Steve, Vickie and Angela brought us a great program of hymns. Bro. Elwood sang a beautiful solo for our special music.
Our pastor and family were out Sunday on fall break and visited his home church in Southaven, Miss.
Bro. Mark Thompson from Selmer preached in Bro. Mac’s absence. His text was from Habakkuk 3:1-19. He was back in the pulpit that evening and his text was from James: 1.
We will have a church-wide fellowship Sunday after the evening service. Please bring finger foods and drinks.
Our fall festival will be held Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. There will be lots of activities. Please bring your bags of candy for the children. Place them in the box in the front foyer. There are also sign-up sheets for the cakewalk and side items for the wiener roast.
Daylight Saving Time ends Nov. 4 and remember Election Day is Nov. 6.
Congratulations to Gauge Elhulu on being selected as Star Student of the Month in his classroom at Martin Primary School. He received a blue ribbon and a pencil with Star Student written on it.
Gauge celebrated his birthday Tuesday with a trip to McDonald’s and going to the Martin Recreation Complex and playing until he got too tired to go anymore. His mom, grandmother and myself enjoyed it with him with refreshments at the park.
Birthdays for this week are: Steve Douglas and Greg Hahn.
Janice Cleek has been moved to Martin Health Care. Please keep her in your prayers, along with other church family members who need prayer.
