On Monday approximately 50 went to the Holt Family Farms for an afternoon of enjoyment. They all had a good and safe day.
On Wednesday night we had no opening hymn. Bro. Kieth read 2 Timothy 4:7.
It was our regular monthly business meeting. At the end, we concluded our study in 2 Timothy. Next week we will start in 1 Timothy.
On this Lord’s Day, our Sunday school lesson was from Genesis 15:1-6, 16:1-5 and 17:1-22, titled “From Failure to Direction.” This lesson was about Abraham and Sarah. We learned that God has a plan for our lives, and a way to implement it. We must not take shortcuts and take matters into our own hands. Instead, we can learn to trust God’s timing.
We sang “Happy Birthday” to Adrianna Pope. Others celebrating this week are Brayton Hodges and Judy Byars.
We extend sympathy to those that have lost loved ones this week.
Joe David and Jackie Laws led us in singing, “Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine,” “He Lives,” “I Love to Tell the Story” and “His Name is Wonderful.” Bro. Kieth’s text was from Titus 2:1 and 11-15. He talked about holding fast to sound doctrine.
In the evening service, we had a good attendance. We were thankful for our visitors. Joe and Jackie led us in singing, “Sweet, Sweet Spirit” and “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.” Bro. Kieth’s text was from Acts 8:34-39.
At the end of the service, we had a baptismal service for Katheryn Mullins. We welcome her to our church family.
Sunday will be Pastor Appreciation Day. We cordially invite you to come.
The following Sunday, Oct. 28, we will have our Fall Festival starting at 3 p.m. for the kids to play on the blow-ups. We will all meet at 5 p.m. for a meal of chili, soup, sandwiches, etc. You are cordially invited to attend.
