Union City police are investigating the alleged theft of a Union City man’s truck from a repair business.
Rodney Mitchell of 504 South Home St., Union City, told police his green 1983 Chevrolet one-ton truck was taken from 1501 Nailling Drive in Union City, where it was left for repair work, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Mitchell said he left the truck with John Shannon at the Nailling Drive location and police reported the vehicle was last seen by Shannon about 8:30 p.m. Friday. Mitchell said he noticed about 6:30 a.m. Saturday that the vehicle was gone and he called Shannon to check on its repair status, learning that work had not been started yet.
According to the report, it is unknown who took the truck and the only keys were left at the repair shop.
The green Chevy truck is described as a one-ton dually flat bed, valued at $1,500, police reported.
