Seldon Brooks Parham

Seldon Brooks Parham, 89, of Dresden, died Thursday, Oct. 11. 2012 at Behavioral Health Care in Martin.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden with Bro. P. J. Scott and Bro. Jim Barnhouse officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden.
Parham was born Jan. 22, 1923 in Dresden area, son of the late Wayne Mitchell and Ethel “Billie” Jolly Parham. He was a World War II veteran and retired Major of the Tennessee Army National Guard. He was the widower of Minnie Mae Butler Parham, who he married Oct. 3, 1943. Parham was a member of Macks Grove Baptist Church, member of UTM American Legion Post #69, retired rural carrier, retired TANG, farmer, member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the West Tennessee No Till Association and former member of Weakley County Commission.
Survivors include three sons, Gerald (Faye) Parham of Gleason, Frank (Roberts) Parham and Mitchell (Beverly) Parham, both of Dresden; one brother, Bobby (Doris) Parham of McConnell; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
